Speech
My name is Lindsey Cloutier, I am running for the secretary position for the Occasional Teacher executive committee with Durham District School Board. I believe that I am a perfect candidate for this position because I have vast experience in the secretary role, having been on the OT exec committee for three years for KPRDSB, in which, two of those years I was the acting secretary. Apart from my experience, I am an extremely detail oriented person and excel in organization. I truly feel that I bring a very strong skill set that will aid in ensuring that the committee is organized, and we are maximizing our productivity as well as keeping our meetings on a great schedule. During my time with Kawartha Pine Ridge, I was responsible for preparing the agenda, action items, as well as keeping track and managing our meeting times effectively in order to ensure that we were using our time wisely. I am a passionate occasional teacher who takes pride in everything I do. When it comes to the meetings, I would like to elaborate on what I can bring to the table. I have experience in planning out what we will discuss at each meeting and budget out our time during each meeting. I also compile documents to ensure that we have a list of things that need to be talked about and dealt with during the year. In summary, I believe that my skill set, and prior experience will be an asset for this committee and it would be an honour to serve on the committee.
